My name is Jessica Niss. I have a story to tell. My mission is to keep my son’s legacy alive by being the voice that assures others that they matter. I would like to bring you alongside me as we all explore the vital importance to Practice a Pause.

I’m moved to share my message at your next assembly. No place is too big or too small; too close or too far away.

My whole world turned on its side on June 5, 2021. My eldest child, Marine Cpl Eric-John Niss deJesus, went missing on this day off the shore of Odo Beach Okinawa Japan. My account of the days that follow are told in a way that will bring light into the darkest room. My message of hope and love comes strait from a mamma’s heart.

definition:

“stop and listen” “pause” “lift up, exalt”

“What do you mean he’s missing? Go find him”

“Be my strength…..”

“….so I know You know where my son is….”

Marine Cpl Eric-John Niss deJesus’ dedication of service and excellence, and his commitment to others, reaches far and wide. His love of water was life long. The last day of his life was spent doing both of these things.
